bio!PAC 2017

Packaging is necessary for:
» protection during transport and storage
» prevention of product losses
» increasing shelf life
» sharing product information and marketing

BUT :
Packaging does not necessarily need to be made from petroleum based plastics. Most packaging have a short life and therefore give rise to large quantities of waste. Accordingly, it is vital to use the most suitable raw materials and implement good ‘end-of-life’ solutions. Biobased and compostable materials have a key role to play in this respect.

Biobased packaging
» is packaging made from mother nature‘s gifts.
» can be made from renewable resources or waste streams
» can offer innovative features and beneficial barrier properties
» can help to reduces the depletion of finite fossil resources and CO2 emissions
» can offer environmental benefits in the end-of-life phase
» offers incredible opportunities.

bio!PAC 2017

That‘s why bioplastics MAGAZINE (in cooperation with Green Serendipity organized the 2nd edition of bio!PAC - conference on packaging made from biobased materials, i.e. from renewable resources.

Experts from all areas of biobased materials presented their latest developments. The conference not only covered biobased materials and application examples from suplliers and brand owners. Different disposal options (end-of-life scenarios) were also be discussed as well as the availability of agricultural land for material use versus food and feed

The 3 day-breakfast-conference was held on the 4th, 5th and 6th of May 2017 in Düsseldorf, Germany (during interpack).

On three days during the show from May 4-6, 2017 bioplastics MAGAZINE hosted a bio!PAC Business Breakfast: From 8 am to 12:30 pm the delegates got the chance to listen and discuss highclass presentations and benefit from a unique networking opportunity. The conference also includes free access to Interpack 2017 (day-ticket(s)).
