Eastman and Helian collaborate on new 3D printing solution

Through an innovative collaboration, Eastman Chemical Company, a raw materials provider, and Helian Polymers, a leader in the masterbatch and biopolymer industry, will introduce a new low-odor, styrene-free 3D printing solution at the 3D Printshow in London, Sept. 4 to 6.

“3D printing is a fast-growing technology that’s ushering in a new era of manufacturing for health care, transportation and other high-profile industries,” said Alex Dudal, market development representative, Eastman Chemical Company. “This new, proprietary polymer will bring excellent strength, workability, processing, low odor and aesthetics to 3D printed products.”
Eastman and Helian’s new offering will provide makers of 3D filaments with a consistent, high-quality product. It will ensure the efficacy of 3D printers, protecting manufacturers’ brand reputations. Finally, it will empower consumers to create strong, functional 3D products through desktop printing.
Helian Polymers produces 3D printing filaments, under the brand name ColorFabb, in a variety of formulations. The collaboration between Eastman and Helian has resulted in a formulation with toughness, brilliance and temperature resistance.
“We are very glad to be working with Eastman on this project,” said Ruud Rouleaux, managing director, Helian Polymers. “This new offering will open a huge window of opportunity to the 3D printing industry.”Eastman-Helian
